While a margarita probably isn’t the cocktail you’re looking to order when sitting down at a high-end steakhouse, you may change your tune after browsing the restaurant’s cocktail menu and coming across the pink Cadillac.

“When I first tried Komos Reposado Rosa Tequila, the quality and uniqueness of the product made me want to figure out a cocktail to feature it,” says Vicki Colacicco, director of marketing for Anthony Scotto Restaurants, which owns Opus Steakhouse. “Our head bartender, Joi Wilson, had the idea to run it as a special for Mother’s Day since the tequila itself is a beautiful pink. We put our heads together and came up with the pink Cadillac and it’s been a best-seller since.”

The pink Cadillac’s ingredients are Komos Tequila: Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, a bergamot-forward liqueur; lime juice, and Pama Pomegranate Liqueur.

“A sophisticated take on the classic margarita,” Colacicco says. “Komos brings clean notes of agave, pomegranate and red berries which are amplified by a splash of pomegranate liqueur, and balanced with the acidity of the bergamot liqueur and lime juice. It’s the perfect fall take on a margarita. It’s a sophisticated drink for cocktail lovers while still being easy to drink like a classic margarita.”

They named the pink Cadillac after the Cadillac margarita, a classic name for a high-end margarita.

“We thought that idea would fit this drink and then just added the color and it made a fun name together,” she says.

“The inclusion of Komos Reposado Tequila gives our take on the classic margarita a unique color and flavor,” Colacicco adds. “It’s also great to support a brand like Komos that is actively working to reduce their carbon footprint and support their local community.”
