Hofstra University appointed Badowska as the new dean of the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. She previously served as dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Fordham University. She will succeed Dr. Dan Seabold, associate professor of math, who has served as acting dean of the College since 2021.

The United Way of Long Island named Nicolino the new chief of the nonprofit’s board. She is chief legal counsel of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union, where she holds an integral leadership position focused on the financial institution’s strategy to enrich the lives of its members, employees, and the communities it serves in New York and beyond.

Choo was named vice chair elect of the United Way of Long Island’s board. He is vice president Gas Field Operations & Programs Downstate of National Grid, where he oversees the delivery of safe, reliable, and resilient gas service to 1.9 million customers across the downstate region, as well as advancing National Grid’s and New York’s clean energy goals.

Toulon was named executive director of The New York Cancer Foundation, where she will oversee the foundation’s daily operations while raising funds for cancer patients who are struggling financially. Previously, Tina served as New York Cancer & Blood Specialists’ top physician liaison for Suffolk County.

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) promoted Peterson from Regional Director to vice president of business development. Peterson will develop, manage and direct the execution of business development with a primary focus on identifying and driving strategic partnerships and key business opportunities.

Stony Brook University has named Gurnani the new dean of the College of Business at Stony Brook University. He joins Stony Brook from Wake Forest University, where he served as area chair of Business Analytics, Operations Management, Marketing, and Economics areas in the School of Business.

Melville-based EGC Group welcomed Smith, who will be serving as account manager. Her professional experience includes having worked at Marc UES (now 9 Rooftops) for several years, Perform[cb], a performance marketing agency, as well as WebMD.

Dr. Harold Paz

Dr. Harold “Hal” Paz

Paz has been appointed to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: Accelerating Treatments and Improving Quality of Life committee. As a member of the committee, Paz, executive vice president for health sciences at Stony Brook University and the chief executive officer at Stony Brook University Medicine, will conduct a study to identify and recommend key actions for the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to undertake to make amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) a livable disease within a decade.
