The Port Washington Chamber of Commerce had a warm welcome for its new member, European Decorative Arts Company at 299 Main Street. Everyone driving past the corner of Main Street and Shore Road has noticed this beautiful addition to Port Washington’s business scene. There was a great celebration at the ribbon-cutting on April 10, 2024, which was attended by owner Scott Defrin, his family, friends, representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and the BID and many local officials. Among the elected officials were Town Councilmember Mariann Dalimonte, Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Manorhaven Village Mayor John Popeleski, NYS Assemblymember Gina Sillitti, Town Clerk Ragini Srivastava, and Village of Baxter Estates Deputy Mayor Charles Comer and trustees Maria Branco and Alice Pecklis. After the ribbon-cutting, Mr. Defrin was presented with certificates from the local officials who were there to congratulate him and wish him success. Everyone who attended was treated to a tour of the store which features incredibly beautiful and rare pieces from Europe. They were also treated to a generous buffet catered by neighboring Harbor Deli.
Chamber president Debbie Greco Cohen said the magnificent new store is another welcome sign of Port Washington’s commercial revival.
