Saturday, May 25
New Hyde Park Memorial Day Tribute Parade
Parade assembly begins at 9:30 a.m. in the southbound lane of Hillside Blvd.; the parade kicks off at 10:00 a.m. The Village Hall Wreath Ceremony follows at 10:30 a.m., along with a ceremony at Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m., followed by refreshments at Village Hall.
Monday, May 27
Williston Park Memorial Day Parade
The ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. at American Legion Post #144, end at Village Hall, and be followed by a ceremony at Fire Department Headquarters in Williston Park. Please join us for the final portion of our ceremonies as we honor and remember our first-responders who have departed the Department’s ranks in the past year.
Mineola Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
The Mineola Fire Department and Boy Scout Troop 45 will host a Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony starting at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Park in Mineola. A memorial ceremony will follow at the Mineola Memorial Park Amphitheater. All residents are invited and encouraged to attend the parade and ceremony.
Garden City Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
William Bradford Turner Post #265 will conduct its annual ceremonies beginning with a 9:00 a.m. Memorial Service at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, followed by 10:00 a.m. parade assembly at the parking lot on the east corner of 10th Street and Franklin Avenue, with a march down Franklin Avenue and Seventh Street to the Veterans Memorial, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial on Seventh Street.
Garden City Park Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
Hosted by VFW Post 120 and the Garden City Park Fire Department. 9:00 a.m. start at Garden City Park School. 10:15 a.m. Ceremony at Garden City Park Fire Department on Jericho Turnpike. Breakfast served after ceremony.
Westbury Military History Collection Open House
The former VFW Hall at 403 Maple Ave. houses the Westbury Military Historical Collection. The collection includes items and memorabilia donated by Westbury residents (and family members) who served in the military. Also is the wall of names of those who served. Open 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Floral Park Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
Hosted by the Floral Park American Legion Post #334, 15 Elizabeth Street. Parade starts at 10:00 a.m.; memorial service begins at 11:00 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.
