Residents Forward, a local environmental non-profit, hosted its annual gala fundraising event on June 7. This year’s theme was “Our Community, Our Waterfront, Our Home,” and it honored beloved Town Councilwoman Mariann Dalimonte and local Port Washington company KISS Beauty Products, Inc.
Residents Forward’s mission is to inspire and unify the residents of Port Washington to protect and advance the vibrancy, resiliency, sustainability and beauty of our peninsula. Resident Forward is celebrating 56 years of serving the Port Washington community.
Proceeds from the event go towards providing beautification and environmental education for the residents of Port Washington.
Over 200 residents and supporters attended the event at the North Hempstead Beach Park Pavillions. The beer was donated by Heineken, Basil & Prime catered the food and DJ Jerry Laskin played the music.
About the Honorees:
Mariann Dalimonte has served on the Town of North Hempstead Board as Councilperson since January 2020 and is a fourth-generation Port Washington resident. Her love of the community has been reflected in her passionate engagement with local organizations.
What started as a simple decision to leave her career to focus on raising her three children grew into full-time involvement in the community. Dalimonte’s tireless work to improve the quality of education in Port Washington began with volunteering on numerous committees at her children’s nursery and elementary schools.
Dalimonte’s service evolved to also include key roles in important organizations that achieved significant successes for the community and its residents. More importantly, she built a reputation for bringing people together.
