Those with young children have a new option for keeping their teeth clean in Mineola.
Dr. Antonia Mauro said she opened Tiny Teeth Pediatric Dentistry on Mineola Boulevard to help instill healthy dental habits in young children and create an enjoyable environment that keeps kids wanting to come back.
“I love working with kids because an important aspect of dentistry to me is the education of both kids and parents at a young age,” Mauro said. “This sets them up for good oral habits and easy dental visits for their whole life. I want to help bridge the gap of the unknown between new moms and their young kids.”
“Our overall goal as an office is to help create a positive environment when coming to the dentist,” she added. “We want to be a place that children look forward to coming back to every six months and help them overcome any fears and anxiety about the dentist.”
She said her practice offers a kid-friendly, welcoming office with televisions and games and where families can access preventative care, regular cleanings, cavity fillings, crowns, root canals, x-rays, emergency care and more for children aged six months to 18 years old.

Mauro has been practicing for five years on Long Island prior to opening her own office in Mineola. She earned her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University, attended dental school at New York University and completed a two-year pediatric dentistry residency at Northwell’s Cohen Children’s Hospital.
“I really just love what I do,” Mauro said. “I love being able to make an impact on a child’s life in the sense that I can provide them with information, as well as their parents, on how to develop healthy oral habits and the importance of the link between the mouth and their body. Keeping your teeth healthy is important for keeping you healthy.”
She said she specializes in providing care to children with special needs.
“Like all kids, they hold a special place in my heart,” Mauro said. “They always deserve to have someone who’s willing to help.”
“Their parents are also going through a lot to help keep them healthy,” she continued. “I want to help their parents develop new techniques to make brushing a little bit easier at home and make a place where parents are able to bring their child and know that there is someone who is willing to help them and work with them.”
When she’s not helping kids keep their teeth clean, Mauro said she’s spending time with her two young children and husband, strength training and watching movies.
Families can schedule an appointment with Mauro from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as some Saturdays, at 297 Mineola Blvd.
