Kai

Available for adoption at the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter

Meet the Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pet of the Week, the world’s most original-looking pupadorable Kai! This one-of-a-kind, handsome, and wonderfully distinctive 3-year-old gentleman is believed to be a poodle/bully mix… with maybe a touch of plushie toy thrown in.

Kai has a fun-loving, puppy-like mentality and is incredibly eager to please. He arrived at the shelter lacking proper training and socialization, but he has since blossomed. He now enjoys playing with his four-legged buddies and soaking up attention from his humans at the shelter. Kai has truly come out of his shell. He would thrive in a home ready to teach him how to “doggo” and give him all the happy memories he missed out on as a puppy. This incredibly sweet boy is a true diamond in the ruff who will bring endless joy, laughter, and adventure to the lucky family who welcomes him home.

Kai would do best in a home with older children. He would be best paired with another dog who matches his energy and social… enthusiasm. Otherwise, he’d be happiest as the star of the show in a home where he can shine as your one-and-only sidekick. Interested adopters are encouraged to schedule a meet-and-greet with this exceptionally special boy.

If you are interested in meeting Kai, please fill out an application and schedule a date/time to properly interact in a domestic setting, which includes a Meet and Greet Room, the dog runs, and Dog Walk trail.

Chirp and Cheep

Available for adoption at North Shore Animal League America

*Double Adoption* You won’t hear a peep from seven-month-olds Chirp and Cheep! These bonded sisters from Florida are cautious about new situations but knowing they have each other to lean on is the boost their confidence needs to find a family worthy of such sweetness. They’ll be singing a different tune when Chirp and Cheep are safely nestled in their new nest at your place!

Dwight

One-year-old Dwight arrived from Florida knowing he’d lucked into a major life upgrade, and he’s been glowing with gratitude ever since. His joy can burst out like confetti, especially when treats appear, but new situations still give him pause. This spirited boy will thrive in an experienced home with older kids who understand when to join the party and when to give him space. A resident cat ready for buddy-level explorations would be a dream match for him. Bring Dwight into your world and you’ll uncover a tabby-bright heart ready to flourish in a home that lets him grow, play, and fully exhale.

George and Gracie

*Double Adoption and Senior Alert * Nine-year-old George and 7-year-old Gracie have weathered more change than any bonded pair should. After their recent return from the home they shared this past year, these gentle souls have settled back into the familiar rhythm of Bianca’s Furry Friends. Originally rescued when their barn life disappeared, they proved slowly and sweetly that they were meant for the calm glow of a real home. An experienced home with older kids will give George and Gracie the steady softness they trust.

Rhodes and Delphi

*Double Adoption* Three-year-olds Rhodes and Delphi first caught a local rescuer’s eye as timid kittens who needed a little guidance to trust the human world. With time, gentleness, and a quiet place to learn, they blossomed into two sun-chasing sweethearts who now spend their days soaking up warmth in our Long-Term Care Home as if they’ve finally discovered their version of paradise. Their future success rests with adults experienced in supporting shy companions and older children who can keep life steady, calm, and predictable.

Alice

Alice is a gorgeous six-year-old Pitbull Terrier mix who has been waiting far too long for her happily-ever-after. She may take a little time to warm up, but once Alice trusts you, her true self shines through; silly, playful, snuggly, and oh-so-loving. Her favorite thing in the world is spending time with her people, soaking up all the love and attention she deserves. Alice is looking for an experienced, adults-only home where she can be the center of your world as your one-and-only furry companion. Could you be the one to give this sweet girl the fresh start she’s been waiting for? Let’s make sure Alice’s story ends with the love she’s always deserved.

Panda

Panda is an eight-month-old terrier mix from Arkansas with a bold, spunky personality and a heart full of potential. She’s looking for an experienced family who can provide the structure, guidance, and confidence she needs to thrive. Older kids will be a great match for her playful energy, and she’ll do best in a home where her humans understand the value of setting clear boundaries. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, Panda will grow into the loyal and engaging companion she’s meant to be.

Colby

Colby is a spirited one-year-old hound mix from Texas with a big personality and an even bigger need for structure. He does well with older kids and will need to meet any children in the home to ensure a safe, respectful match. Because he has a history of high-value resource guarding, Colby is looking for an experienced dog owner who can offer strong, consistent leadership. He’ll also need to meet any resident dogs to be sure everyone gets along. The good news? Colby is already crate trained and housebroken, and with patience and clear guidance, he has all the potential to become a loyal, loving companion. In the right home, this bright boy will absolutely thrive.
