Multi-Family Garage Sale for Charity

Furniture, housewares, antiques, TVs, clothing, toys, books, Something for everyone. All proceeds go to AvonWalk for Breast Cancer. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 45 Elbow Ln., Levittown.

Garage Sale

The non-profit Hicksville High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association will hold a garage sale. The exclusive purpose of this fundraiser is to raise college scholarship money for graduating seniors. The garage sale will take place on Newbridge Rd. in the Hicksville High School parking lot by the baseball field and tennis courts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For further information, call 931-7022 (evenings).

Defensive Driving Course

Family Support Group

An ongoing support group for those who have family members or other loved ones with mental illness. Meets on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at Central Nassau Guidance & Counseling Services, 950 South Oyster Bay Rd. The fee is $5 per family. In addition to verbal support, the group presents guest lecturers, workshops, educational programs and holds social events. For information call 822-6111.

Korean War Veterans of NC

Parenting Group

Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling’s Community Program, 950 S. Oyster Bay Rd., is an outpatient substance abuse agency offering a Parenting Group on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. This group specializes in parenting issues for substance abusers as well as parents whose children use drugs. While drug use among teens has declined in other parts of the country, it continues to rise here in Nassau County. For information on this group as well as other services, call 822-4060. Bible Studies

Cornerstone Christian Church of LI conducts bible studies every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Currently the book of Galatians in the New Testament is being studied. Women’s Domestic Issues

A new group at the Community Program at Central Nassau Guidance & Counseling Services, 950 South Oyster Bay Rd., providing support and education to women experiencing domestic conflict, child abuse, substance abuse and related issues. The focus will be on education, support as well as empowerment and proactive behavior. Issues related to the family and the legal system will be addressed. In addition, journey with Andrew to the upper worlds to speak with the higher powers to receive individual information about the Atlantean epoch.
