The Floral Park Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the 141st running of the Belmont Stakes with its annual Floral Park Belmont Festival on Friday, June 5. The festival will take place on the eve of the final leg of thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown at Belmont Park in neighboring Elmont.
Merchants and community organizations will convene with village residents for the festival located on Tulip Avenue between Verbena and Plainfield Avenues. The activities run from 5 to 10 p.m. with live music by Hot Lettuce, Flight Control and All Occasion DJ.
Ryan Irish Dance Academy students will perform, and there will be a variety of culinary delights from local restaurants and pubs to supplement the evening.
The Floral Park Chamber of Commerce will hold a raffle for two VIP tickets to the Belmont Stakes donated by the New York Racing Association (NYRA). Raffle tickets are $5 each and can be purchased at the chamber booth at the festival or in advance at Jack Duggan’s, Trinity or Station Deli.
The Floral Park Lions will also sell their famous cookbook and conduct a raffle for “A Day at the Races” package at Belmont Park (non-Belmont Stakes), also courtesy of NYRA. The package includes six VIP tickets along with a named race and trophy presentation in the winner’s honor. The winner will be announced June 8, following the Lions golf outing. Advance raffle tickets can be purchased at TD Bank for $10.
The Floral Park Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Floral Park and NYRA sponsor the Floral Park Belmont Festival.
