New Hyde Park Bengals Take First Place In Memorial Day Commack Tournament
New Hyde Park Bengals Boy U -15 team competed in Commack Memorial Day Tournament. During Saturday and Sunday they played four games compiling a record of three wins and one tie. In the four games to qualify for the playoffs they scored ten goals and only gave up two. They then qualified to play in the playoffs on Monday. In the playoff game they played Lake Grove to a tie in regulation play and won the game in penalty kicks. This placed them in the Championship game against VOB. The Championship game ended in a one to one tie, the double overtime which followed also ended in a tie two to two.
Again the Bengals came through in winning the game with penalty kicks. The Bengals were deemed the Champions in the Boys U-15 Division. This was accomplished with great defense by John Chirinos, John Stevens, Jonathan Cordova, Sean Kirschner, Michael Esposito and Anthony Obidienzo. Solid goalie play by Keith Heesemann. Great game control and scoring by our midfielders and forwards, Manuel Neto, Stephen Gadze, John Cicerale, Greg Arpino, Kevin Taglich, Fabio Marchitelli, Jeremy Waite, Angelo Orbe and Matthew Pistone.
