Bob Jackman Knows Oyster Bay
Bob Jackman called to identify the June 11 mystery picture. “It’s the garden outside of the Roosevelt Elementary School dedicated to my daughter Brooke. I want to thank the school district for taking such good care of the garden,” he said. The photograph was taken after the May 16 Brooke Jackman Run for Literacy. Mr. Jackman added, “I appreciate everything the community did for the 5K run. It was nice to see so many friends participating.”
Thomas Power recognized the photo as being taken at the Roosevelt School. “It is a statue of a little girl reading. It is on the corner of West Main Street and Lexington Avenue,” he said.
“It is the front of Roosevelt Elementary School and I believe that is the statue dedicated to Brooke Jackman,” said Jessica Craft of Oyster Bay, in an email. She also aced last week’s picture. She said, “It is the back of the Oyster Bay Water District.”
Billy Minicozzi made a good guess on the location. He added his thanks to the Bayville Fire Department for letting him march in their parade. On a sports note he wished Tiger Woods good luck in the U.S. Open taking place on the Black Course.
