Over The Hill Gang Softball Report

The Over the Hill Gang softball league held its annual fundraiser this year for The Association for Children with Down Syndrome 5+ program (ACDS). Mother Nature supplied a beautiful night and everyone had a great time.

Dozens of OTHG members along with our special guests from ACDS enjoyed cotton candy, popcorn, peanuts, pizza and soda. The league was fortunate to have two great guys “The Wiseman and Frank” from Radio station B103 on hand to serve as Masters of Ceremony. They gave away prizes all night and kept everyone entertained with their own special brand of baseball trivia.

The Color Guard from Post 449 of the American Legion hoisted the Flags and The Pledge was lead by Councilwoman Rose Walker, Councilman Anthony Macagnone and Jim Reilly. The National Anthem was sung by Emily Hynes.

Linda Sperba from ACDS spoke about the +5 Program and thanked the OTHG and everyone who came out to support the Charity. The rest of the night was filled with raffles and softball. The grand prize 52 “ HDTV was won by Nancy Gersten who donated $500 back to ACDS in her son’s name (Brenden).

None of this would be possible if it were not for our many volunteers including Chairman Ed Shillitto, Chairwoman Maria Ball, Head Committee woman Christian Restani along with Joann DeTurris and Pat Forte. Thanks also to JoeAnn, Rebecca and Alexander DeTurris, Christian, Fabrianna and Sienna Restani, ‘Joe Gordi (cotton candy) Marty DeTurris (popcorn) Jillian Reilly and Meghan Ephine (face painting) Joe Reilly (setup and breakdown, Ed Reilly (soda and pizza) Cathleen Shepard (Grannys)Tickets.
