The Plainview Water District held its scheduled public budget hearing meeting on Thursday, Sept. 3 at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library. After fielding various questions from attending community members, Commissioners Kevin Langberg, Joel Kessler and Edward Shulroff announced that the proposed budget comes with no rate increase and no change in the tax levy for the upcoming year. The district’s conservative budgeting practices and strict cost-cutting measures, limiting expenditures, have allowed the district to maintain a strong fiscal outlook.
“We are proud to announce that the proposed budget presents no rate increase and a tax levy freeze for 2010,” stated Chairman Kevin Langberg. “This reinforces our commitment and assures residents that we constantly search for ways to consolidate costs and save our community money.”
The Board of Commissioners of the Plainview Water District is committed to providing residents with the highest quality water at the lowest prices possible, while ensuring complete compliance with all state and federal environmental regulations.
