Hillside Methodist Country Barn Dance and Sing-a-Long
The Hillside Methodist Church, 2801 Hillside Avenue at Heywood Street will hold an Old Time Country Barn Dance and Sing-A-Long with a guitar playing folksinger from 8 to 10 p.m. Live music by professional musicians. $7 for adults, $3 for children under 12. St. Andrew’s Nativity Church to Host Community Workshops
Community workshops for seniors wil be conduced by Sarisohn Law Partners. Each workshop is scheduled to be run twice. Pumpkin Patch Sale At Community Church Of East Williston
The Community Church of East Williston, corner of Hillside Avenue and Roslyn Road, will hold its first annual Giant Pumpkin sale on the front lawn of the church. A chance to purchase a variety of pumpkins daily starting on Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Thereafter, on weekdays from Oct. 19 to Oct. 30 you can make your purchases between the hours of 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24 to 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. a chance for a BBQ lunch and purchase homemade baked goods. New Hyde Park Memorial High School will hold its Annual Homecoming celebration starting with a parade on Hillside Boulevard that will wind through the streets of New Hyde Park ending at the football field. At the halftime of the football game, the float winners will be announced, as well the names of the New Hyde Park Memorial King and Queen.

Herricks Reschedules Homecoming
Due to the construction of the Herricks High School track, and the inability to use the football field, the Herricks High School Homecoming has been rescheduled to start at 3 p.m. with a community barbeque. From 3 to 3:30 p.m. will be the presentation of the floats to parade around the high school circle and then march to the Herricks Community Center. At 4 p.m. there will be a barbeque and presentation of dignitaries, honorees, classes, clubs, etc. At 5 p.m. the Varsity football team and cheerleaders will depart for Tully Park, off Denton Avenue. At 6 p.m. a bus and car caravan will depart for Tully Park and at 7 p.m. will be the kickoff of the football came between the Herricks Highlanders vs. The Oceanside Sailors.
