Herricks High School Homecoming Follows New Route

The Herricks Homecoming was a huge success under the steady hand of Herricks Director of Physical Education Jim Petricca.

Due to the ongoing construction of the new track at the high school, the field could not be used, so alternate homecoming arrangements had to be made.

Therefore, all the band, the cheerleaders and the floats made their way from the high school down to the backend portion of the Herricks Community Center.

There the students had an opportunity to bounce their hearts away in inflatable bouncing equipment, have their faces painted, but most of all, they were treated to a delicious barbecue.of hamburgers, hotdogs, corn and sauerkraut.

Plus, there was a band on stage providing music and the entire event was so very different, but so much fun.

As soon as those festivities were completed and the students were all fed, they piled into buses that ferried them to Michael J. Tully Park where they watched the Herricks football team play under the lights.

This year’s homecoming theme was Herricks Goes Retro and the floats were so creative with the freshman class the winners.

The Homecoming King was Christian Castelli and the Homecoming Queen Erika Esposito.
