MacArthur High School Baseball Alumni Day a Huge Success

On Oct. 24 the MacArthur baseball program held its first Alumni Day with over 50 former players participating in the day’s activities. First up was a Home Run Derby, with dozens of former players showing off their power. Jeff Tyler, 1994 Diamond Award winner as Nassau County’s Best Player, ended up edging out his former teammate Vin Causeman, the Most Valuable Player of the 1994 New York State Championships, and Brent Savin, All County award winner in 2000 and 2001. This was followed by softball games pitting teams comprised of graduates from different years against each other. To cap off a great day, the former Generals met at a local restaurant for a catered lunch. All of the credit for this great day goes to current MacArthur High School Varsity Assistant Coach Vin Causeman. Coach Causeman contacted well over 100 former players, and has started a Facebook page for MacArthur Baseball Alumni. If you are an alumnus and want to join the contact list, email Coach Causeman at VCauseman@levittownschools.com. Coaches Costello and Causeman want to make this day an annual event, including as many former players as possible. MacArthur High School enjoys one of the richest baseball traditions of any high school in the state, and we want to continue to honor those players who built this successful program.
