Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in South Floral Park on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at about 11:30 p.m.
Detectives reported that a man, armed with a black handgun, demanded money from the male victim who had just left his car with his wife in front of their home on Louis Avenue. As the man pointed the gun at the male victim, his wife ran away to the side of the house, police stated. The victim handed his wallet over to the gunman who then removed cash from it, handed it back and fled on foot towards Emma Street, police said.
No injuries were reported.
According to police, the suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build and about 25 to 30 years of age. Additionally, police said that he was wearing khaki pants, a blue and black baseball cap, a short black coat and a black handkerchief covering his nose and mouth at the time of the robbery.
