Lucy Burke, 87, of Hicksville, died on Feb. 13, 2010 at Glens Falls Hospital, NY. Born in Brooklyn, Dec. 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Grace (Cardone) Sabatino. Lucy married William Burke of Salem, NY, on June 1, 1946. He passed away June 30, 1985, following their 39th anniversary. Lucy had the privilege of staying at home and raising her children. Most recently, she was a member of the Senior Citizens of Bethpage.
Besides her parents, husband, sister and brothers, Lucy was also predeceased by her son, James Burke. Survivors include her daughter, Maureen Stripp of Warrensburg and formerly of Ozone; two granddaughters, Laura Stripp of Fairbanks, AK, and Grace Stripp of Warrensburg; two nieces, Mildred Rodriguez, her husband Richard, and their children, of Stony Point, NY, and Jo Ann Clute, her husband, Charlie, and their children of Saratoga Springs; two nephews, Jimmy Biscardi and his children of Newburgh, and Richard Burke of Massachusetts.; one sister-in-law Pat Burke; as well as Lucy’s dear friends.
Arrangements were made by the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, Hicksville. Funeral Mass at St. Ignatius of Loyola . Interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
