Cantiague Park Senior Men’s Golf News

The Cantiague Park Senior Men’s Golf League had a beautiful day to start its golf season. After all the rain and high winds from last week, it was good to be out there on a sunny day. They had 35 golfers and the scores were about average, some good and some not so good.

They had 27 pars and four birdies. Sean McGuinness and Bob Ross birdied the 272-yard, par four, sixth hole. Dave Malle birdied the 150-yard, par three, third hole and John Bosco birdied the 259-yard, par four, first hole.

2nd Low Flight A – John Ednie

Longest Drive  – Bob Ross

Closest to the Pin – Dave Malle    

2nd Low Flight B – Dan Arena

The next tournament will be on Thursday, April 1. Sign-in is at 8 a.m. promptly.

Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 13 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 14 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible.
