Anna Senyk “Ann,” longtime resident of Farmingdale, passed away at her home March 13, 2010. Born in Herkimer, NY, she began her career as an instructor of social studies in 1947 at what was then the Agriculture & Technology School. She became a professor, a chairperson of social studies and a chairperson of anthropology, retiring from SUNY Farmingdale in 1986. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Pelagia. Anna was also predeceased by her sisters, Vera and Stella, and their brother Walter “Sonny.” Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held March 19 at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church. Interment in the family plot at St. Peter and Paul Church Cemetery in Herkimer will take place in the spring.
