Help a Good Cause by Voting Hicksville Native ‘Man of the Year’

Saltalamacchio in the Running

Chris Saltalamacchio, 2003 Hicksville High School graduate and 2007 University of Delaware graduate, is one of 11 nominees (and the youngest man) to be nominated “Man of the Year” by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Delaware. Saltalamacchio received this honor for his extensive volunteer work during his year as unofficial “Mr. Delaware 2008,” held as a fundraiser for the Miss Delaware organization.

One of the people Saltalamacchio is dedicating this fundraising campaign to is Dan Kristoff, who passed away from leukemia in 2005. A vocal music teacher at Hicksville High School for 14 years, Mr. Kristoff, was Saltalamacchio’s teacher, mentor and friend during his four years in high school. He was also instrumental in Saltalamacchio’s selection to the New York State Student Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Chorus during his senior year.

If you would like to support Leukemia and Lymphoma, honor Dan Kristoff’s memory or help Saltalamacchio win Man of the Year, visit his website at http://de.mwoy.11 sevent.org/MrDE2008. Donations will be accepted until June 5, when the LLS will announce the Man or Woman of the Year winner at a gala casino night in Wilmington, DE. Every dollar Saltalamacchio raises is a vote for him.
