Virgilio Chiropractic & Wellness Center Padres vs. Gair, Gair Conason, et al. Braves

It was a great game by both teams on a hot night for baseball.  Offensive stars for the Braves were Philip Schurr, Kenny Hirschfeld & Stephen DeRocchis with 4 hits each, Evan Kreth & Andrew Wang had 3 hits each.  Adrian Balkcom & Alan Birnbaum both smacked doubles.  Aaron Canese contributed with 2 hits.  Christopher Gould made two great stops at second base.  All the other boys contributed to a great team effort.

Baxter’s Sport Shop Rangers Vs. Sportography Cardinals

The Rangers were a bit shorthanded this weekend against a powerful Cardinals team, but an admirable effort kept the game close throughout.  The Rangers pitching staff of PJ Vayias, Alex Russo and Dean Vayias was very good on the day.  By limiting walks the offense was able to keep the game close.  Alex Russo delivered the big jolt for the offense with a 3 run home run in the 4th inning.  The defense was also solid throughout the game with strong performances by Stephen Guy behind the plate, Spencer Kern at third base and PJ Vayias at first base.

Gigi’s Pizza Marlins vs. Baxter’s Sports Shop Rangers

The Marlins continued their winning streak on Tuesday night against the Rangers, with timely hitting, solid defense and strong pitching.  On offense Matthew Baronci continued to hit the ball hard, with a sharp single and two runs scored.  Paul Fadoul was on base twice and had a steal and RBI.  Kenny Gensch also had a great night, collecting his second RBI with a line drive base hit after battling back from a two strike count.  Sean O’Connor went 3 for 3 including two steals and two RBI.  Jake Blancher added two hard singles and a pair of RBI.  Eric Madenberg and Ivan Vidaich were both aboard three times, each with an RBI and a run scored.  Several Marlins were two-way standouts.  David Klebanow struck out a batter and contributed on offense with a stolen base and a run scored.  Christopher Bruccoleri also had a K during his inning pitched and collected three solid hits.  Elliot Weissman struck out the side in the second inning then lined an RBI double down the left field line.  Dylan Kareff fanned a pair of Rangers and added a base hit and two walks.  Charlie Goodwin had already caught a fly ball in right center and been on base three times before closing out the game with two strikeouts in the bottom of the fifth.

Knights of Columbus #2852 Merillon Minors Dragons 10 vs. Williston Park East 10

The Dragons had a dogfight of a game with a tough Williston park that ended in a tie. My star of the game was Nicole Kuzler with strong pitching, Kristen Renta hitting two doubles producing 3RBI’s and through out 2 runners and third base from behind the plate, and Madison Solomon with strong pitching late in the game to keep the game in reach. We had good fielding and timely hitting from the rest of the team. This was a group effort in a tight game which came down to the end. “LET’S GO DRAGONS!”

Knights of Columbus #2852 Merillon Minors Dragons 14 Vs. Garden City Orange 13

Wow! What a game and the Dragons prevailed even though we had grueling heat on this day. My star of the game goes to Gene Pepe with some nice plays at first base, as well as Silvana Seidita with some flashes of glove work for some key outs. Brittany Levkulic is showing outstanding pitching late in the season. The rest of the girls were patient at the plate and played there positions well. We are getting down to the end of the season and I think the girls are turning the corner and starting to play up to there potential. LET’S GO DRAGONS!

Chicos B.B. Cubs vs. Knights of Columbus NHP 2852 Dodgers

Dodger baseball continues to excite their fans with timely hitting and precision fielding. The RBI leaders were Mike Campagnuolo and Nick Marsella with 3 each. Ben Goodwin and Eli Goodwin were a close second with two each. Steven Bracco and Christian Zammora completed the scoring with one each. The hitting awards went to Cenzo Montoni, Justin Yang, Matthew Merolla, and Paul Depaulis as they all hit long doubles in the gaps. The Frozen Rope award goes to Robert Martini with his rope up the middle in the 4th.

Knights of Columbus NHP 2852 Dodgers
Vs. Virgilio Chiropractic and Wellness Center Padres

The Dodgers had their best defensive game of the season against the Padres. The battery of Guisepe Seidita and Paulie Depaulis allowed no runs with the bases loaded as they completed two forceouts at home in the 4th. Justin Yang and Cenzo Montoni completed a 8 to 4 put out  to end a rally in the second. Steven Bracco and Nicholas Marsella completed crucial forceouts in the third to end another rally. Christian Zammora ended a threat in the 6th with an assist at third. Justin Marsella’s speed behind the plate ended another rally as he fielded a bunt and placed a tag on the runner at home. Robert Martini played an excellent defensive game behind the plate and at second. Michael Campagnoulo made his debut at first and made an unassisted play on a sharp grounder. The hitting award goes to Cenzo Montoni as he stroked another double to left.
