Membership Drive at Irish American Society
The Irish American Society of Nassau, Suffolk and Queens, located at 297 Willis Avenue, Mineola is holding a membership drive from 3 to 6 p.m. The finest Irish society for social events that has many ways for all ages to come and meet people of Irish birth or descent. Come to rekindle old friendships or make new ones. Current programs and events include Irish Shows, Tea Parties, Social Gathering Mondays from noon to 3 p.m., Annual Fashion Show, card games on Friday nights, Donny Golden School of Dance performances, Adult Ceili dance lessons, Irish football for boys and girls. Something for everyone. To be a member you must be Irish born or of Irish extraction or for associate membership married to an Irish person. The Village of New Hyde Park will hold its regular meeting at 8 p.m. at village hall, corner of New Hyde Park Road and Jericho Turnpike. Please note: New Hyde Park Village has gone into its summer schedule which only holds a meeting on the third Tuesday of every month. The schedule of two meetings a month will resume in the fall.

Stewart Manor School to Hold Blood Drive
Stewart Manor PTA will hold a Blood Drive in conjunction with New York Blood Center at the school, 38 Stewart Avenue, Stewart Manor from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. A donation will help to save up to three lives. Blood is needed in area hospitals. Eligibility criteria includes: Bring ID with signature or photo, minimum weight must be 110 lbs, age is from 16 to 75 (16-year-olds must have parental permission. Age 76 or older needs doctor’s note), eat well (low fat) and drink fluids and no tattoos for the past 12 months. For further questions please contact 437-4145.
New Hyde Park Chamber to Hold Outdoor Italian Festival
The New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce will kick off summer at its Annual Outdoor Italian Festival at 6 p.m. at Uncle Bacala’s Restaurant, 2370 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park. There will be no speakers, no special guests, fun, beer, wine, food, music and networking! If you only come to one event all year… this is the one not to miss. The menu to include: Appetizers Served Family Style, Hot Antipasto, Fried Calamari, Choice of Caesar Salad, Mixed Greens Salad, Pasta and Penne a la Vodka.
