Memorial Mass for Mary T. McCaffrey
Mary Theresa McCaffrey (nee Heffernan), of Brooksville, FL, formerly of Floral Park, died on May 15, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Charles R.; children, Mary Beth Bratton (William), Kathleen Ulmer (Everett), Donna Marie (deceased), Charles R. Jr. (Linda), Celeste E. Landri (Pat), Patrice M. DeStefano, John Kevin (Trish) and Regina G. Trainor (Jeffrey); 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also her sister Catherine Sheppard of Brooksville, FL, and brother Patrick J. Heffernan of Glen Cove.
Mary grew up in St. Rose of Lima Parish in Brooklyn, graduated from St. Brendan’s Diocesan High School and attended St. Joseph’s College for Women. She was a long-time member of the Catholic Daughters of America. On retirement, Mary and Charles moved from Floral Park to Hampton, VA, and then further south to Florida, residing in Rockledge, Ocala, and settling in Brooksville.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Spring Hill, FL, on May 18. Interment Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. A month’s mind Mass will be offered on Tuesday, June 15 at Our Lady of Fatima Traditional Latin Church, Spring Hill, FL.
A memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Victory Church in Floral Park on Saturday, June 19 at 9:15 a.m.
