Every now and then lightning does strike twice and there is proof right in Island Trees. Bryan Verbitsky, the winner of the Diamond Award in 2009 (Nassau County Baseball Position Player of the Year) has done it again. For the second year in a row Verbitsky is the Nassau County Baseball Position Player of the Year.
The award was presented at the Nassau Baseball Coaches Association Dinner in front of approximately 500 people. There were four finalists for the award and as each player was named the resume of accomplishments were incredibly impressive. Verbitsky’s name was the last to be called and when his resume was read it became clear why he earned the prestigious award for the second year in a row. The Island Trees community would like to congratulate Bryan on his amazing accomplishment and wish him the best in his baseball career at Hofstra.
