Third Annual Blazing Trails 4 Autism 4 Mile Run/Walk Set for October 24

Anton Community Newspapers Again a Key Sponsor

Anton Community Newspapers, with 18 editions serving 70 communities throughout Nassau County, has signed on once again to be a major sponsor of the third annual Blazing Trails 4 Autism 4-Mile Run/Walk. The event will be held on Sunday morning, Oct. 24 at the Great Neck South High School/Middle School campus. All runners, walkers and supporters of those far too many families dealing with autism are invited to be a part of it.

The run will be managed by the Greater Long Island Running Club, with veteran GLIRC Race Director Robyn Schneider in charge once again.

Every entrant in the Run/Walk will receive a commemorative hooded sweatshirt. The array of door prizes that will be given away after the Run/Walk is even more exciting than in 2009, and will include a Cannondale road bike valued at more than $1,000 courtesy of Brickwell Cycling/Multisports.

“Anton Community Newspapers, through its publisher Angela Anton has been an enthusiastic sponsor of the event from the outset,” said Schneider. “Not only is it one of the best weekly newspaper groups anywhere, but it is well known for efforts in giving back to the local community. Anton Community Newspapers is a wonderful corporate citizen, and we sincerely thank them.”

Remember – in addition to being an outstanding event with all the amenities, the proceeds of the Run/Walk are dedicated to the Eden II and the Genesis Foundation, which support children and adults with autism through specialized programs designed to help them achieve the highest possible quality of living throughout their lives.

On line registration is open at glirc.org and hard copy entry forms are available. Call Linda at the Greater Long Island Running Club at (516) 349-7646.
