William Lentini was 5 for 6 with 4 runs scored and 2 RBIs he also made a great play at second base to force a runner. Bailey Lee was 5 for 6 with 4 runs scored and 2 RBIs and made a fine catch on a pop up to the pitcher’s mound. Anthony Robayo was 2 for 6 with a single, double and 3 rbis. Alfred Squicciarino was 1 for 4 with a big two run single in the 2nd inning. Frank Dimilta was 5 for 6 with 3 doubles two singles and 5 RBIs. Jake Glueck was 5 for 6 with 4 doubles and 6 RBIs. Jake also made several outstanding plays at first base and short stop.
Hand Rolled Bagels Cubs vs. City Line Florist Braves
It was a great game played by both sides. Offensive stars for the Braves were Duhan Lee, Kenny Hirschfeld, and Nicholas Ungania with 5 hits each. Jeremy Wong, Brendon Park and Evan Kreth had 4 hits each. Jimmy Weedon and Daniel Semet had 3 hits each. Several great plays in the field by Ryan Wasserman. Jeremy made a great play at shortstop. Great teamwork and sportsmanship shown by all the boys.
The Hand Rolled Bagels vs Lower Farms Cubs
The lower farms clubs took to the field in a well-played game against the City Line Florist Braves on September 18. Attilio L., John D., Ryan K., Jack K. and Scott M. let loose some real shots at important points during the game and contributed to the Cubs tally. Excellent fielding and glove work by Trevor Y., Ryan O., Philip G., Chris Z., and Alex S. kept the Braves scoring in check. Once again… really solid game played by all
GiGi’s Pizzeria Merillon Brewers Vs. Ridgewood Savings Bank Rockies
In week two, the Brewers offense was again charged up. This week, the offense was powered by Cenzo Montoni with 3 RBI’s,both Mathew Merolla and Abidin Dauti with 2 RBI’s each and single RBI’s by Paul DePaulis, Anthony DeVito, Cole Larock, and Justin Yang. The defense was again sharp with Mathew Merolla displaying his ability to stretch at first and third , Dareen Yang with smart plays at shortstop, Paul Depaulis with a strong throw to complete a 5 to 3 put out and Anthony Devito slapping a tag on a runner advancing to third. The outfield remembered the rules learned at practice with Mathew Stroccia, Christian Zamorra, Daniel Mattei and Daniel Goldberg hitting the cut-off man and getting the ball into second. The power award goes to Cenzo Montoni with 3 doubles. The longest shot goes to Abidein Dauti. The Frozen rope awards go to Cole Larock, Paul Depaulis, Justin Yang and Darren Yang. The hustle awards go to Christian Zamorra, Daniel Mattei, Mathew Strocchia, and Daniel Goldberg for remembering to always run it out.

The Nationals welcomed new player James Kim to the team today with an impressive offensive performance, under cloudy turned sunny skies at game time on Merillon Field 4. Offensive players of the game included Lance Yetikyel (3-3), Jose Betances (3-4), Erik Lyngstad-Hughes (3-5), Aidan Chun (2-3), and James Kim (2-3). In the field, Erik Lyngstad-Hughes retired an entire side single-handedly, making all 3 outs in the top of the fourth inning. Other defensive players of the game were Jon Ziebitch, Chris Erxleben, and Joseph Vieni, with sound plays in the infield. The Nationals are off to a terrific start this season with a great team of players. Players, coaches, and parents all enjoyed an exciting game of baseball on a picture-perfect morning at Merillon today. The Padres want to thank their sponsors, New Hyde Park Funeral Home, for the opportunity to let the kids play. Sunday, Sept 18, 2010 the boys are excited and happy and showed it on the field. Padres had a great day hitting, leading the way was Justin Marsella, Dan Rielly, Marco Gullo, Ryan Garzon and Joe Mattei. Hitting with power was Brandon Colon with another double. Had great plays defensively by Giuseppe Seidita and Daniel Garcia. Play of the day goes to Nick Marsella with a great running catch in Left Field for an out. Great job boys keep up the good work.
