The weather on Thursday, Oct. 7 was terrible. It was chilly with a cold breeze. The league players even had a few raindrops. When the players were almost finished, the sun came out and it got a lot warmer. The weather had a direct effect on the scores today. There were 41 golfers and only 21 pars and two birdies. One by Ted Marukawa on the par three, 200 yard, third hole and the other by Ken Hymes on the par three, 173 yard, second hole. Only seven men shot under net par and two more shot even par. The next tournament will be on Thursday, Oct. 21; sign in begins at 7 a.m. It will be a “Scramble” tournament and it will be the last tournament of the season. Immediately after the tournament, we will have a luncheon and we will give out prizes at Vinere Ristorante.
“Shot of the day” – There were two pretty good shots today, both on the ninth hole. One was by Al Poggoli who hit a chip off the green into the hole and the other by Lou Neumann. He hit his tee shot over the trap and onto the green and it stopped about two feet from the pin.

Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 13 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 14 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age is eligible. We have room for a few more golfers (about 10) for next season.
