Ridgewood Savings Bank Rockies vs. Gigi’s Pizzeria Brewers
The week off due to rain created a small setback for the Brewers bats in the early innings. Paul Depaulis put some runs on the board with a bases clearing triple. Justin Yang added to the run production with a RBI single and Daniel Goldberg added 2 more with a double to right center field. Anthony Devito added one more RBI in the fifth helping the Brewers get back into the game. The defense kept the game close. Cenzo Montoni made 2 good plays at second, Abidin Dauti completed a 5 to 3 put out, Mathew Merolla made a great scoop of a ball in the dirt at first, Daniel Mattei hit the cutoff man preventing a run from scoring and Mathew Stroccha played well at first to complete a 4 to 3 put out.. The game came down to the bottom of the sixth with the Brewers down by two. Christian Zammora started the rally with a base hit. Paul Depaulis and Cenzo Montoni managed to get on base setting it up for Darren Yang. With two strikes, he kept his cool and blasted a bases clearing triple. The Brewers showed their team spirit by celebrating with Darren and of course acknowledged the Rockies for a great game. Hats off to both teams for a great game!!

We thank our sponsors New Hyde Park Funeral Home for giving the boys the opportunity to playball. Today Saturday October 9, 2010, the boys came to the field eager to play. Had great hitting by Giuseppe Seidita, Dan Rielly, Nick Marsella Brandon Colon and Ryan Garzon. Had good glove work by Dan Garcia and Joe Mattei. Play of the day goes to Justin Marsella by starting a triple play atta boy. We want to wish Dan Garcia Happy Birthday. Great job Padres.

Hillside Beverage Cardinals Vs. New Hyde Park Kiwanis Rangers
The New Hyde Park Kiwanis Rangers continued their relentless hitting attack on 10-9-10. Ian Meyer led the attack in the leadoff spot going 3-4 with three runs scored Brandon Alwadish went 4 for 4 with three doubles and a triple scoring 4 runs and driving in 4 and made a nice play in left filed backing up the centerfielder to keep a ball in front of him. William Lentini went 3 for 4 with three singles three runs scored and two rbis and made nice play at 2nd base forcing a runner and a great stop in center filed to keep a runner from advancing Jake Glueck went 4 for 4 with three singles and a double driving in 4 and scoring once. He also maked three nice plays at first and caught two pop ups at short and third base. Frank Dimilta went 4 for 4 with 4 singles a run scored and 2 rbis and made a great play at the pitchers mound forcing a runner at third. Eli Goodwin went 1 for 4 with a big first inning single driving in a run. Matthew Farkas went 1 for 4 with a single in the first. Bailey Lee went 2 for 4 with two singles 2 runs scored and 2 rbis while making a great stab at 3rd base to throw the runner out at first. This team keeps improving each week and is having fun and really starting to come together as a team.
Dr. Margaret Zadnik, DDS Nationals vs. City Line Florist Braves
It was a great game played by both sides. Offensive stars for the Braves were Duhan Lee, Kenny Hirschfeld, Jeremy Wong, Edward Mauceri, Brendon Park, & Evan Kreth with 3 hits each. Daniel Semet contributed with 2 hits. Jimmy Weedon started a double play with a diving catch. Ryan Wasserman had all 3 putouts in the same inning. Nicholas Ungania made several goods plays also. Great teamwork and sportsmanship shown by all the boys.
City Line Florist Braves Vs. Dr. Margaret Zadnik, DDS Nationals
The Nationals played smart defense and hit the ball well on a sunny and warm October morning. The team played well in the field, and every player had solid hits throughout the game. Nationals’ offensive players of the game included Cooper Alwadish (2-3, 1 RBI), Jon Ziebitch (2-3, 1 RBI), Lance Yetikyel (2-3, 1 RBI), Joseph Vieni (2-2, 1 RBI), Erik Lyngstad-Hughes (2-3), Garrett Roth (2-3, 1 RBI), and Jonathan Grenard (2-3, 1 RBI). On the field, solid plays by Jose Betances, Aidan Chun, Christopher Erxleben, Jonathan Grenard, and James Kim balanced out a strong team effort by the Nationals.
