Letter: Support for Carlow in 6th SD Race

In Francesca Carlow, who is running for State Senate in the 6th District on Long Island, we have a very unique candidate. She is your “everyday woman,” who got involved because she thought she found a better way to help her community. Francesca is running without the backing of either party and is running as an independent Democrat.  She is so independent that Bill Murphy of Newsday wrote of her “… if Carlow can beat Hannon, the senate would have a new member beholden to neither party,” (Newsday, Sept. 2.)

I have known Francesca Carlow for many years. I have watched her raise two children, who attended the public schools in Plainview-Old Bethpage, is co-owner of and bookkeeper for Trio Hardware in Plainview, was on a multitude of community and school organizations and was president of the POB Chamber of Commerce for seven years. She was presented the lifetime PTA Founders Day Award and served on many organizations like Title IX and Safenet. Francesca Carlow is just like you and me, but she has the guts to “buck the system” in an attempt to make Long Island a better place for us, our children and our children’s children to live, work and play.  I urge everyone to vote for a “real person,” vote for Francesca Carlow.
