Well, this editorial should be no mystery to regular readers of the Oyster Bay Enterprise Pilot.
We are asking the Oyster Bay Town Board to look favorably at Snouder’s Corner Drugstore as its future is decided.
Of course we want it restored!
Isaac Kremer, Main Street Association executive director said it would be great if it could be another Octagon Hotel success story.
Just take a look at the Octagon Hotel to see how wonderful a restoration can look and imagine what a great thing it could be to have Snouder’s fully restored.
There were apartments on the floors above the drugstore that should make the project appealing to someone interested in developing the property. That would bring a few more customers to help make the downtown area vibrant.
If you know someone interested in Snouder’s be sure to tell them the community will be behind them to return the building to its former glory. It would be a great gift to the historic hamlet of Oyster Bay!
