Obituary – Amy Jo Woicyk

Amy Jo Woicyk (nee White) grew up in Farmingdale and had been raising her family in Lindenhurst. A more courageous person you will ever find. She passed away at age 46 on Jan. 23, 2011 with her husband, Robert (NYPD) at her side. She lives on through her children, John Robert and Amanda. Daughter of Robert A. White Sr., the late Doris P. White, and stepdaughter of Marianne. Sister of Patricia, Peggy Wright (Michael), Nancy and Robert Jr. (Christine). Daughter-in-law of Walter and Brenda Woicyk, and sister-in-law of Patricia Woicyk, Janet Reiser (Philip), Walter (Michelle) and Kevin (Brenda). Aunt of Michael and Phillip Wright, Colleen, Erin and Lillian White, Nicole, Jessica, Brandon, Briana, Julianna, Caitlyn and Kevin Jr. She also leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, her lifelong friend, Dan Bauer, his family, and her coworkers at Syosset High School, whose love and support to Amy throughout her illness will never be forgotten. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held Jan. 28 at St. Kilian RC Church. She was laid to rest alongside her mother, Doris, at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Donations in Amy’s honor may be sent to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1400, NY, NY 10122, www.ocrf.org). An inspiration of courage and bravery, she never gave up, she had to give in.
