USTA Names Anthony Pastecchi Named Junior Volunteer of Year

The U.S. Tennis Association/Eastern Section/Long Island Region, at its 21st Annual Awards Dinner, named Anthony Pastecchi of Hicksville its Junior Volunteer of the Year.

Anthony, 18, a freshman at C.W. Post College, is a tireless volunteer in the tennis community. During 2010, he helped at both USTA Kids’ Days in Nassau and Suffolk counties and was a major volunteer for the Tennis Blitz in the Parks. He taught at the Smash Zone, an interactive area at the U. S. Open and supported the Hicksville Team and assisted at the Corporate Challenge. He was a Volunteer at the USTA Long Island Regional Awards Dinner in 2010 and also coached 10 & Under Tennis at the Hicksville Boys & Girls Club Carnival Day. He plays on 18-and-under Team Tennis and works at both the Tilles Center and Long Island Tennis Magazine.
