For the second year in a row, the newly formed Blue Dragon Football Alumni has presented scholarships to deserving Levittown Division Athletes.
This year’s award winners were Basketball and All State Track standout Kristen Stuart and All County Football, Wrestling and member of the Long Island Championship Baseball team, Robert McNamara. Each athlete received $1,000 from the Football Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Former Blue Dragon Football Coach and former District Athletic Director Jerry Jewell, along with Levittown Division Avenue High School alumnus, Class of ’64, Jim Silvestri, were instrumental in starting the scholarship fund. Both were on hand at the Dragons, Sports Awards Ceremony to make the presentation on Thursday, June 9.
Special thanks also must be recognized to all the former Blue Dragon Football Alumni who have donated their time and money to benefit our Blue Dragon Athletes.
