L.I.A.C.T’s (Long Island Actor’s Community Theatre) is a group comprised of Hicksville High School alumni and current students, which brings together the actors of the Hicksville community and blends diverse, young talents by putting on theatrical productions. The group has had participation in the Hicksville Tree Lighting, Governors Comedy Club Fundraisers, as well as foundation walks with Alexander’s Angels.
“This is our third consecutive year putting on a summer show. Our past credits included a Broadway Musical Review in August 2009 and a Mixed Genre Musical Review in Aug 2010. Our next show is on Aug. 11 and 13, titled ‘BasicGLEE.’ It’s L.I.A.C.T’s interpretation of the show Glee, with dancing, singing, acting and more,” said Juliana Becker, the group’s co-creator and director.
The show will be held at Levittown Hall on Levittown Parkway, Hicksville. The show is appropriate for all ages and tickets are $10. They can be purchased at the door or early via liactshicksville@yahoo.com.
“Not only is this a night of music and dance provided by our 13 cast members, but a form of giving back as well. We will be donating a portion of our profits to Alexander’s Angels, a foundation raising awareness for the Down syndrome community, who will be receiving half price as well,” said Becker.
