Community Appreciation Day August 28
The Cellini Lodge #2206, Order Sons of Italy in America, located in New Hyde Park, will hold its Annual Italian Festival to start on August 24 through August 28 at Michael J. Tully Park, 1801 Evergreen Avenue (off Denton Avenue) in New Hyde Park.
The hours of the festival will be: Thursday and Friday from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 10 p.m. Admission is $1 and children under 8 years are free.
Ride tickets are discounted on Wednesday and Thursday. On Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. is Community Appreciation Day during which admittance is free and pasta ½ price.
The Festival promises to be a good time for all ages, featuring games, children’s activities, vendors, rides, international food court, pasta tent, Italian pastries and espresso. Plus, there is a gambling tent with Black Jack and Wheels of Chance. Nightly live entertainment scheduled is: Wednesday-Sweetwater, Thursday-Head Over Heels, Friday-Risky Business, Saturday-Don Felice” and Sunday-Billy C. & Friends.
