Doris A. Cathers (nee Tempia), longtime resident of North Massapequa, passed away at the age of 81 on Aug. 28, 2011. Wife of the late Francis (Dec. 1979). Mother of Patricia Woodward, Peggy Katchmer, Edward Cathers, Christine Friedman, Lois LaFroscia and the late James Cathers. Grandmother of seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Sister of Josephine Blackman, Lucy Stoiber and MaryLou Krause. Retired longtime Verizon employee. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Private cremation.
