Flea Market at Hillside United Methodist Church
The Hillside United Methodist Church, Hillside Avenue and Heywood Street, New Hyde Park, will hold a flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. including vendors, jewelry, ladies clothing sizes large and extra-large, both new and gently used, lots of bargains, treasures for everyone. New Hyde Park Knights to Hold Dance
New Hyde Park Knights of Columbus located at 1000 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park will be holding their annual end of summer dance on September 10 from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. This year’s theme is Hawaiian Luau Night. Cost is $45 per person and includes family-style dinner, open bar, dessert, coffee and tea. Music will be provided by Beat by Beat Entertainment. In addition to the DJ music, guests will be treated to a performance by the Hawaiian Hula and Tahitian Dancers in full costume with audience participation. There will also be raffle prizes and 50/50. The Town of North Hempstead will hold a 10-year 9-11 Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. at Clark Botanic Garden, 193 I.U. Willets Road, Albertson. All are welcome to attend.
The Williston Park Little League will be holding their annual 9/11 ceremony at the Memorial Garden they dedicated four years ago. The ceremony will take place Sunday Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. at Kelleher Memorial Field, located at the corner of Syracuse St. and Stratford Ave.

Golf Tournament to Benefit Veterans’ Groups
Long Island Fore Veterans is the proud sponsor of the 2011 Team Jesse Golf Tournament to be held on September 12th, at Cherry Creek Golf Course in Riverhead, N.Y. Event proceeds will benefit the Veterans Support Fund and the Team Jesse Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to provide education and support for families of fallen soldiers. Teachers Federal Credit Union, Long Island’s largest credit union, invites golfers and golf enthusiasts to join in making the September golf outing a fundraising success. Registration/Tee-off is 10 a.m., and cocktails followed by dinner at 3 p.m. The fee for golf, cocktails and dinner is $200 per person ($180 for veterans).
