Congratulations to Farmingdale endurance athlete Amy Goldstein, who successfully completed the grueling “Labor Pains” 12-Hour Run on the trails of Mount Penn in Reading, Pennsylvania on Sunday, Sept. 4. Goldstein, 51, logged 40 miles over the rugged terrain of Mount Penn.
This was the second edition of the Labor Pains 12-Hour Run, which consists of five-mile loops. Goldstein had logged 35 miles in last year’s inaugural edition, and was determined to crack the 40-mile mark this year. She got there with more than 31 minutes to spare.
Goldstein is a familiar figure on the local running and racing scene. She is a member of the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC) and serves on the Club’s Board of Directors. In the “real world,” she is the principal of Nassau BOCES Children’s Readiness Center in Bellmore.
