At The Life Enrichment Center at Oyster Bay. Trés Cabaret is back. Come for the second “Supper & Song” evening featuring jazz saxophonist Paul Kendall. Cellofest
The LI Baroque Ensemble opens its 42nd season with Cellofest, a concert featuring solo cellos and the beautiful voices of cello concertos by Locatelli, Telemann, Marcello and Vivaldi. The concert will take place 3 p.m. at Christ Church, 61 E. Main St., Oyster Bay. Ensemble members performing on this program are: Myron Lutzke, Lindy Clarke and Loretta O’Sullivan, violoncellos; Anca Nicolau, and Karl Kawahara, violins; Louise Schulman, viola and Sonia Gezairlian Grib, harpsichord. 50-Mile Relay Charitable Challenge
Bethpage Federal Credit Union partners with The Greater LI Running Club to sponsor the Bethpage Ocean to Sound 50-Mile Relay and Charitable Challenge to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The route will extend from Jones Beach State Park – Field 2, up to Cedar Creek Park, and then through Seaford, Massapequa, Farmingdale, Old Bethpage, Huntington, Cold Spring Harbor, Syosset and Oyster Bay Cove. The race will finish at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay. Each team will consist of eight runners. Team members will take turns running one section of the eight-leg relay. Each leg is between five and seven miles. Each participant will be given a commemorative T-shirt and an invitation to the post-race party taking place at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park. The post-race party will include unlimited food and beverages, live music and an awards ceremony. Team categories include Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Mixed Open, Men’s Masters, Women’s Masters, Mixed Masters, Men’s Senior Masters, Women’s Senior Masters, Corporate, Law Enforcement/Firefighter, Physically Challenged, and One Person Teams. 8 a.m. start time. (7 a.m. early start time available for teams anticipating the need for more than 8 hours to complete the 50 miles). Teams must register online at www.glirc.org. Cost: $360/team if registered by Sept. 18. $400/team if registered between Sept. 19 and 24. No day-of-race entries will be accepted.

The Brookhaven Kennel Club hosts its 42nd All-Breed Dog Show, Obedience and Rally Trial with special attraction of Best Puppy in Show, guided dogs show tour, education, vendors, food. Sept. 30: Nature Bowls Pottery Workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All ages – younger children must be accompanied by an adult (by reservation only). Have you ever wanted to try your hand at pottery? Looking to spend quality time with your family? Bring your family, friends, or just yourself and work with local artists to create your own food-safe, nature-inspired bowl. Participants will use natural materials to create designs in clay, which will be fired for us in local kilns. A later date will be set up for you to come back and paint your bowl before a final firing. All materials will be provided. $13 members; $15 nonmembers.

There & Back: A Celebration
The No Surrender Breast Cancer Foundation announced that Elizabeth Roosevelt is the co-honoree along with Dr. Ron Israeli at the “There & Back: A Celebration of Survival” Gala at 7 p.m. at Christ Church, 55 E. Main St. A lifelong Oyster Bay resident, art historian, avid sailor and wonderful photographer, Ms. Roosevelt will represent the Roosevelt family and present the Alice Roosevelt Longworth Award, (she was a breast cancer survivor) to Dr. Ron Israeli. Tickets are $100 each; $75 for those under the age of 29.
America’s Poets Walk With Walt
The program, which will be held at the birthplace of America’s Good Gray Poet at 246 Old Walt Whitman Rd., Huntington Station, will be hosted by Whitman Birthplace Writer in Residence George Wallace. The program will pair a nationally prominent visiting writer with one of Long Island’s fine regional poets for a program of poetry and conversation. Individual tickets to the series will be on sale in advance, or at the door, for $15 per ticket or $70 for the full series. Walk4Hearing
Join Team Mill Neck at Walk4Hearing, a nationally coordinated effort sponsored by the Hearing Loss Association of America. The event will be held at Riverside Park in New York City, West 83rd St, and Riverside Dr. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk will start at 10 a.m. Come as a walker or support a team member by making a donation. Click on “find a walker or team” and type in Loretta Murray in the Walker first and last name fields. The Mill Neck Family of Organizations will benefit from the proceeds raised during the event. Mill Neck will walk in honor of Ed Minicozzi, a supporter of the Mill Neck Family of Organizations since the 1990s. Minicozzi, who passed away this year, is sorely missed by his Mill Neck friends. The purpose of the walk is to increase awareness about the causes and consequences of hearing loss and to raise funds to provide information and support for people with hearing loss. Art Walk First Thursday
Art Walk features an international spectrum of contemporary artists. Get some artistic inspiration as you visit local art galleries. Other businesses and sites in town will be displaying artwork. Local restaurants will be exhibiting art and are offering a percentage off on meals, wine tastings and more. Live music entertainment is scheduled. Cafes and restaurants will remain open late for dessert and coffee. The evening will begin with Chase Edwards Gallery, 15 E. Main St. (802-0655) and continues at Atelier Gallery, 9 E. Main St.; Art (that matters), 55 W. Main St. (917-769-9921); The Teaching Studios of Oyster Bay, 115 Audrey Ave. (971-597-2404); and The Artist Club Gallery, 29 Berry Hill Rd. will also be open. Art will also be available for viewing at various downtown merchants, including Canterbury Ales, Jack Halyards and Wild Honey. The Oyster Bay Main Street Association office (17 Audrey Ave.) will also be displaying the works of local artists, with refreshments served.
