Driver Safety Course
The Brotherhood of Temple Beth Elohim is sponsoring a Driver Safety Course on Nov. 14 and Nov. 16 from 6 to 10 p.m. Attendance at both sessions is required. The registration fee is $14 ($12 for AARP members). The registration fee is waived for veterans, in recognition of their service. Stroke Support Groups
Stroke Life Society is a community organization of survivors and co-survivors in the pursuit of living and helping others. A stroke can be very isolating. Weekly Events
•Family Support Group, an ongoing support group for those who have family members or other loved ones with mental illness. Meets on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at Central Nassau Guidance & Counseling Services, 950 South Oyster Bay Rd. The fee is $5 per family. •Introduction to Chemotherapy, a monthly information session for cancer patients who are beginning chemotherapy treatments. Family members are welcome. Refreshments served. Nurses with special training, dietitians and other professionals present information that can help individuals understand, and cope with, the effects of chemotherapy treatments. There is also an opportunity to share information with others who may have been through similar situations.
