Benefit Planned for Ella Kate Kearney

Family and friends of the Kearney family of Massapequa are hosting a fundraising benefit for Ella Kate Kearney from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Nutty Irishman, 323 Main St., Farmingdale. The Rotary Club of Great Neck is supporting the event. Ella is the two-year old daughter of Brian Kearney and Keri (Galante) Kearney who was recently diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma – a malignant tumor on her spine. Following emergency surgery to remove much of the tumor, Ella’s family received the devastating news that little Ella would require eight months of chemotherapy as well as radiation treatments that will take place out of state. Although Ella’s family has medical insurance to cover her treatment, her parents will need to take considerable time off from work and will have large expenses such as deductibles, travel for treatments and prescriptions. Kearney’s friends and family have come together to raise much needed funds to help them with these costs. The suggested donation for the event is $50 per person (children under 12 are free) and admission includes a full buffet as well as one free draft beer, wine or soda. The event will also feature entertainment, raffles and a silent auction. The committee would greatly appreciate any donations of gift cards, services, merchandise or other prizes for the raffles. To RSVP or donate, checks can be made payable to the “Great Neck Rotary Club” (indicate “Ella Kate Kearney Fund” in the memo section of check) and mailed to “Ella Kate Kearney Fund”, P.O. Box 357, Williston Park, NY 11596. You can also RSVP by emailing ellakatebenefit@gmail.com For more information, call 742-1505.
