Camellia Weekend
Planting Fields welcomes visitors to its third Annual Camellia Weekend Feb 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Featuring new and exciting activities in the Camellia House and Coe Hall Mansion. This year the fabulous camellia blooms of over 200 camellia shrubs and trees will be accompanied by wonderful saxophonists from Chamber Players International. Entrance to the park and Camellia House is free. In the mansion ($5 per person; members and children free) there will be magic performances, jump rope workshops, hula hoops, a hopscotch room, Alice in Wonderland, the movie, all day long, and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party with storytellers Jonathan Kruk and Andrew Sadler. For adults there are tours in the Camellia House and lectures in the mansion about camellias. There will be camellia plants and jewelry for sale as well as other activities. Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society
Join the Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society at 8 a.m. at Croton Point Park, Look for bald eagles, short-eared owls and hawks. Waterfowl in Croton Bay include scaup, common merganser, common goldeneye and bufflehead. Walk in the Woods
If it snows take your snowshoes (or not) on a walk NSLA is doing jointly with Seatuck Environmental Association. The Land Alliance’s Jane Jackson and naturalist Joanne Tow will lead an exploration of this skinny, scenic woodland. 11 a.m. at Roosevelt Preserve, Hempstead. Meet at the Frederick Ave. entrance at Brooklyn Ave. The walk is free and registration is encouraged. Art Walk First Thursday
Art Walk features an international spectrum of contemporary artists. Get some artistic inspiration as you visit local art galleries. Other businesses and sites in town will be displaying artwork. Local restaurants will be exhibiting art and are offering a percentage off on meals, wine tastings and more. Live music entertainment is scheduled. Cafes and restaurants will remain open late for dessert and coffee. The evening will begin with Chase Edwards Gallery, 15 E. Main St. (802-0655) and continues at Atelier Gallery, 9 E. Main St.; Art (that matters), 55 W. Main St. (917-769-9921); The Teaching Studios of Oyster Bay, 115 Audrey Ave. (971-597-2404); and The Artist Club Gallery, 29 Berry Hill Rd. will also be open. Art will also be available for viewing at various downtown merchants, including Canterbury Ales, Jack Halyards and Wild Honey. The Oyster Bay Main Street Association office (17 Audrey Ave.) will also be displaying the works of local artists, with refreshments served. Birding at Target Rock NWR

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Needs Oyster Bay Recruits
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla in the Oyster Bay area is recruiting new members. They are needed to assist the Coast Guard in performing Homeland Security missions and to implement the Coast Guard’s many recreational boating safety programs. No experience or boat is required. Muttontown Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
The Fellowship provides an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie, with talks presented by intelligent enlightening and non-dogmatic speakers who come from the entire spectrum of the Arts, History and Sciences. This is followed by coffee and an informal discussion circle, held in the turn-of-the-18th century farmhouse in a bucolic setting. •Alcoholics Anonymous closed step meeting Sundays at 8 p.m. and open meeting at the same time. On Wednesdays at 8 p.m. there is a beginner’s meeting and a closed discussion meeting. •Bereaved Parents of the USA. This national self-help support group charters the LI NY Chapter. Meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 231 Jackson Ave., Syosset. The group offers support, compassion, understanding and hope. No dues or fees.
•Locust Valley Garden Club. The Executive Board of the Locust Valley Garden Club invites new members to join. The club meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. at Bailey Arboretum. Some of the committees take care of local gardens, do garden therapy with residents of Jones Manor, make projects with the children of the Grenville Boys and Girls Club and decorate local libraries at holiday time.
