North Bellmore Crash Leaves One Man Dead

A car crash in North Bellmore on Friday sent two people to the hospital, one who later succumbed to his injuries, Nassau County police said.

According to police, on March 16 at around 5:30 p.m., 22-year-old Robert Lazos was driving a 2005 black Mazda  northbound on Route 106 near Sanders Place when his car collided head on with 2006 gray Nissan driven by an unidentified 37-year-old man traveling southbound.

The 37-year-old was rushed to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Lazos, of North Bellmore, was treated for serious head and facial injuries and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Detectives report no apparent criminality at this time. The investigation is continuing.
