Congratulations Tommy Dittmeier. The Zwanger Pesiri Radiology (ZP) outfielder is the newest Over the Hill Gang Player of the Week. Dittmeier slammed four hits, drove in four runs and scored three to lead ZP to a 21-9 win over McCourt & Trudden Funeral Home.
It was an all-around good night for ZP and winning pitcher Brian Tinney. The bats were alive and the defense was sharp. After 10 years of nailing runners, you would think outfielder Bino Reverberi’s arm would not be tested very often. Not true. He had three assists Friday, including a laser to home plate from deep in right center field.
At the plate, ZP quickly made up a four-run first inning deficit and then just kept on hitting. Sean O’Flynn had the shot of the night. He launched a blast that hit the top of the fence in straight away center field. It would have cleared the fence by 50 feet if it was over just a little bit.
Marc Fischer also had a big night, four hits and three RBIs. Jerry Mazza, John Hernandez, O’Flynn, Richie D’Amico (three RBI) and Anthony Nicolich all joined the hit parade with three hits each. Russ Graham, Reverberi and Art O’Neill had two hits each as ZP kept the pressure on all game.
Lockie & Nowachek Family Chiropractors defeated Changing Times Pub 27 – 11. It was a total team effort. Butch Flecker was five-for-five with three RBIs. Rich Apollo and Thomas Joseph each had five RBIs, Apollo with a tremendous home run over the fence and Joseph with a triple well over the outfielders heads. Joe Auer, Chris Keep, and Tim Jones each had four hits. Mike Quigley, Joseph, Apollo, Ron Schwab, Jim Doyle, and Pete Cestare had three hits each.
