The Eyes of Learning

A non-profit organization dedicated to higher learning in the metaphysical field held at Levittown Hall, 201 Levittown Pky., Hicksville. Members $10; nonmembers $15. Call 731-0909. Dr. Rom is an international psychic medium now in her seventeenth year of public work, following an original academic training as a sex therapist. This two-part evening event will begin with a lecture and discussion introducing specific techniques you can use to take your own abilities with spirit communication to the next level, including beginner, intermediate and advanced level techniques. 3rd Annual Walk for Lymphedema and Lymphatic Diseases

The Lymphatic Research Foundation is proud to announce the 3rd Annual Walk for Lymphedema and Lymphatic Diseases. This event supports funding for The Lymphatic Research Foundation (LRF), which is an organization dedicated to advancing research of the lymphatic system and to find improved treatments and cures for lymphatic diseases, lymphedema, and related disorders. Participants will gather at 10 a.m. in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow. Golf Outing

The Hicksville Fire Department will be hosting the annual Ex-Chief John Specht Memorial Golf Outing benefiting Building Homes for Heroes. The golf outing will take place at the Stone Bridge Golf Club, 2000 Raynors Way, Smithtown. For an entry fee of $140 per person, it includes golf, breakfast, giveaways and a buffet to follow. NAMI Long Island Regional Council Inc., is hosting a lecture on mental illness. Topic: Keeping emotionally fit and healthy as we age. Bethpage Ocean to Sound 50-Mile Relay

The Bethpage Ocean to Sound 50-Mile Relay will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23 to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Start time is 8 a.m. Begins at Jones Beach and ends at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park in Oyster Bay. Teams must register online at www.glirc.org. Cost: $360/team if registered by Sept. 16. No day-of-race entries will be accepted.

CCAN’s Gala Event

The Carcinoid Cancer Awareness Network (CCAN) will host the 9th Annual “Celebration of Life” Gala on Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The evening includes a cocktail hour, dinner, open bar, coffee and cake, music, dancing, 50/50 raffles, and raffle prizes. The gala will be held at The Sterling, 345 Hicksville Rd., Bethpage. Attendance is $95 per person or $875 for a table of ten. To register or for more information visit: www.carcinoida wareness.org.
