Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced that the County Executive Mixed Couples Twilight Golf Tournament will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Cantiague Park Golf Course. Tee time is 3 p.m.
Participants can register at the Cantiague Park golf ticket office. The registration fees are as follows: a $20 check to the Treasurer of Nassau County and a $20 check to the Friends of Nassau County. A Leisure Pass is required. Cantiague Park
Cantiague Park has been part of the Nassau County Park System since 1961 and is centrally located in Hicksville, just off the Northern State Parkway and east of the Wantagh State Parkway. This 127-acre park offers the following activities: a 9-hole, par-30 golf course that is 1,878 yards, with holes ranging from 150 yards to 272 yards, as well as an illuminated driving range and an 18-hole miniature golf course. Additionally, the park features five lighted tennis courts, six lighted handball/paddleball courts, three lighted basketball courts, four softball fields, four multi-sport fields (two lighted) to be used for soccer, football, lacrosse and rugby, an artificial turf field that accommodates football, soccer and lacrosse and is lighted for night play, a playground, two reserved picnic areas and one non-reserved family area, an indoor ice skating rink, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, two water slides, a diving pool, a “kiddie” pool, a training pool and an interactive water-play area. Cantiague also has shuffleboard courts, a bocci court, and tables with inlaid chess and checker boards.
