National Circus of the People’s Republic of China
Direct from China, the National Circus of the People’s Republic of China, performing Cirque Chinois, will be on stage for one night only at Long Island’s Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at 8 p.m. The program features traditional Chinese circus feats with the added flair and sophistication of a European circus. Americana Manhasset is the evening’s sponsor. Tickets are $60, $45 and $30. All ticket prices include a $2 per ticket facility fee. The box office is open Monday to Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. There is a service fee for all tickets purchased online or by phone. There are no refunds or exchanges. Free Lecture at Hofstra University
The Long Island Society of the Archaeological Institute of America will be presenting a free lecture titled “The Unsolved Mystery of the Athenian Agora Bone Well” at 2 p.m. The lecture will take place in Breslin Hall, Room 106 at Hofstra University. Speaker will be Dr. Susan Rotroff, (AIA speaker), who is a professor in the Dept. of Classics at Washington University, St. Louis. Free lecture featuring cell biologist and cancer researcher Dr. David Spector who talks about HeLa cells.
