Congratulations to Hicksville athlete Jill Loveland, who recently won two awards at the Greater Long Island Running Club’s annual Awards Night.
“Jill is an outstanding athlete whose double win this year was very much deserved,” observed Running Club President Mike Polansky. “More to the point, she is a bright and enthusiastic young woman who is a real credit to our Club.”
Loveland earned the Club’s Championship Award in the 25-29 Age Group by virtue of her record in the Club’s 11 race series of championship events, and she also won one of the five coveted GLIRC “Most Improved” Awards, based on a comprehensive analysis of her racing performances throughout the year.
The meeting was held at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library, with a capacity crowd of about 250 on hand to congratulate Jill and the other award winners.
