Nassau County homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that killed a 29-year-old man in his hometown of Hempstead on Wednesday night, police said.
The victim, James Warren, was discovered around 6 p.m. when Hempstead police officers responded to a call for shots fired on Fulton Avenue. The man was found lying on the sidewalk, police said.
He was taken to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 6:47 p.m., police said.
